In Colombia there are excellent  places that you should consider if you plan to spend a vacation with your children. There are places where children are the protagonists of the fun, although the elderly will also enjoy it.

If you are in Colombia or you plan to travel to this country with the little ones in the house, keep these destinations in mind. Ideal for everyone.

1. Bogota

The capital of Colombia, Bogotá, is a noisy and hectic city, but it is also a beautiful place where you will find many options to enjoy with the family. It is advisable to make a list of the most interesting places for everyone and look for a central accommodation so as not to waste a lot of time on transfers.

What can you enjoy in the city? Among the main attractions is the extensive Simón Bolívar Park. You will also have a great time at the Salitre Mágico amusement park, at the Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden, at the Children’s Museum and at the Maloka Interactive Museum.

In the north you can visit Diver City, located in the Santa Fe Shopping Center, a city in which children are the only inhabitants, interact as adults and even handle their own currency.

You also have the Jaime Duque Park, on the outskirts of Bogotá.  There you will enjoy many games, a land train and even a zoo. And you can visit the Panaca theme park, where children will get to know in depth the different domestic animals of the country.

2. Cartagena

The beach, sand and sea make Cartagena another of the most visited family destinations in Colombia. The fun of the little ones is practically guaranteed.

For the older ones there are all the tourist attractions that a walled city with a lot of history can offer them. In addition,  Cartagena is considered the most romantic city in Colombia.

3. The Chicamocha Canyon in Santander

The Chicamocha Canyon is located in Santander and is one of those special destinations for the enjoyment of children. There you will find attractions such as the ice rink or the Parque de las Cabras, where you can meet and interact with animals and live country life. Another thing that you cannot miss is the flying cable, the cable car and the buggies.

4. Villa de Leyva

Despite the fact that Villa de Leyva is known to be one of the most romantic destinations in Colombia,  there is a special time when it is worth going with the children, in August, when the Wind and Kite Festival is celebrated.

This environment flooded with color and gusts of wind will make them have a great time, since, in addition to flying kites, they can also participate in the different activities that take place around the celebration.

5. Medellin

Medellín is known as the city of eternal spring and is always ready to welcome children and provide them with an excellent climate. To enjoy this city as a family, you can go to Parque Explora and Parque de los Pies Descalzos, where the little ones can play with water.

You can also include in your itinerary the Parque de los Deseos and the Planetarium, the Arví Park, the small town paisa, the EPM Interactive Museum, the Museum of Antioquia and the Botero Square. No less fun is going up on the cable subway, from which you can see one of the best views of the city.

6. Santa Marta

Santa Marta is known as the most beautiful bay in America.  It is a city full of history where you can take your children and soak them in the culture that reigns in the city.

An important place to go is the Quinta San Pedro Alejandrino, where Simón Bolívar, liberator of that nation and 4 others in Latin America, spent his last days.

And if you want to enjoy the sea,  you can visit the Tayrona Natural Park, where you will find the beaches of Taganga, Bahía Concha and del Rodadero. In addition, to get to know the flora and fauna of the country, you can complete the tour knowing the aquarium that is near the capital of the department.
