The Five Villas in Italy, also known as the Five Lands, are part of a beautiful area of the country within a national park that bears the same name located in the Liguria region. The wonderful geography of the place is so spectacular that it has been considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Five Villas in Italy: Monterosso
We started our journey through the Cinco Villas in Italy through Monterosso. This town is the westernmost of the towns in the natural park, between hills cultivated with olive trees and a sea of crystalline waters.
Around the medieval castle that presides over the town, there are still several of the 13 towers that were built in the 16th century. Along with this historical complex, you can also visit the church of San Giovanni or San Francisco, with frescoes attributed to Van Dyck.
And, of course, the sea. Monterosso is a beautiful town by the sea that invites you to spend beautiful days on the beach, enjoy water activities such as diving or enjoy the best gastronomy in the area in the attractive establishments.

We are now going to another bucolic town, called Vernazza. Another small village dotted with houses in different colors in front of tiny and cornered beaches that enjoy spectacular views when viewed from the sea.
In Vernazza there are still certain reminiscences of its Roman past, with the portico through which the ancient inhabitants carried their wine amphorae. In addition, the wonderful church of Santa Margarita de Antioquia, standing since the Middle Ages, is worthwhile.

This time we go to the town of Corniglia, another spectacular place in the Five Lands of Italy. A village that is not built directly by the sea, but on a small hill nearby and surrounded by extensive vineyards.

Last but not least, we visited Riomaggiore, another manifestation of the Five Villas in Italy of deep and romantic beauty. With its descents to the small coves by the sea, it is, without a doubt, a beautiful town.
In Riomaggiore, the parish church of San Giovanni is also worth a visit, along with the Renaissance castle and other historical manifestations that still remain in the town.
In addition, there are bucolic walks along the coast, or along trails within the Cinque Terre Natural Park, which make Riomaggiore the ideal destination for romantics. There is even a path known as the “Way of Love. “
